Toy Theatre Shows
As part of our topic this term we have used the idea of superheros to perform a puppet show in form of a toy theatre. We had to firstly design a plot, write a script ensuring everyone had a part then design a character, make a puppet AND a back drop! There was lots of team work involved and then we performed our end pieces in front of our peers.

Year 3 WOW day
After a well earnt Christmas break, we are back in school ready to learn about another major historic period - The stone age, bronze age and iron age.
To kick start our first topic thishalf term we had the chance to dress up as hunter gatherers, built a shelter from sticks and string, played PE games where we tried to hunt children acting as animals, watched The Flintstones, studied cave art and created our own piece and designed an outfit for a hunter gatherer.
We learnt lots of facts out this day and most of all, it was fun!

Papyrus Calendars
Papyrus Calendars
For our 2017 calendars we looked at Ancient Egyptian art and
used repeating patterns to create a similar design. We learnt how papyrus stems
are made into paper.
Canopic Jars
Ancient Egyptian Canopic Jars
Since returning to school after October half term we have been learning all about Ancient Egypt. We reaserched how to mummify a dead body and how they used canopic jars to reserve (what Egyptians thought) the vital organs, they believed they were needed to live again in the afterlife.
Here are some of our jars, we worked very hard to sculpt them with clay.
