It is that time again where Miss Mac has had to spend A LOT of time trying to find only two excellent pupils who get a special certificate in this Friday's celebration assembly.

And the winner's are (drum roll please).......

Hafsah Arshad for always being keen and ready to learn

and

Le'Arno Taggart for  always putting 100% effort into all he does!

Longest Ruling Monarch

God Save Our Gracious Queen

As part of our PHSE lessons we have been learning all about Queen Elizabeth, II who is now the longest ruling UK monarch!

All week we had fun learning our national anthem, building class timelines and taking part in competitions to create the best fact file.

A huge well done goes to Kiyara Louise Joseph and Nasiyba Sharif for completing a detailed and creative fact file on our Queen.

Great work girls!

Our New Celebration Assembly

The Oval are now celebrating two pupil's achievements each week to show off their hard work and determination or exceptional skills displayed in and out of school.

On Friday 18th September both Muhammad Hamza Ibrahim and Brayden Daley-Hemming won a certificate and received a huge round of applause for their individual successes noticed by their class teacher.

Brayden Daley Hemming won his certificate for always challenging himself in all lessons.

Muhammad Hamza Ibrahim won a well done certificate for writing a passionate poem in RE about tackling prejudice.
Well done guys!

Welcome to year 3!

The lovely class of 3.2 have settled in really well this week. We have shared all of our exciting news about our holidays and discussed what our personal targets are for the year ahead.

The children have adjusted really well to life in key stage 2 and have made a great start to their year 3 work.

Keep up the good work 3.2!

Plants learning walk

We discovered so many different plants on the back grass today.
We found almost 30 different plants, here are some of the flowering and non-flowering plants we identified...

  • Beech tree
  • Daisies
  • Potato plant
  • Strawberries
  • Coriander
  • Grass
  • Moss
  • Mint
Mrs Akhtar helps us identify some of the herbs in the greenhouse made out of bottles.

After our learning walk we looked carefully at a flowering plant and sketched it. We labelled some parts of the plant even though it was only our first Science lesson on plants. Here are a few photos to show us sketching...
